Marrakech is home to some of the most remarkable hotel pools in North Africa, where the splendour of the pool matches that of the architecture surrounding it. This ranking selects five properties whose aquatic offering, by virtue of its scale, design, intimacy or landscape scenography, is reason enough in itself for a stay. The selection covers only existing hotels, classified 5-star or Palace, and verified at the date of publication. Each entry provides the key facts: opening or renovation year, architect’s name, pool surface area, dining context and indicative 2026 rates.

How to choose from this ranking
The choice depends first on the place the pool holds in your expectations. La Mamounia (#1) is an iconic benchmark: its pool, even if not the largest, benefits from the strongest historic setting. It suits couples, travellers who care about starred gastronomy and admirers of Art Deco architecture. The Royal Mansour (#2) is the right choice for those who want a private pool in their riad without giving up a vast outdoor basin. The price is steep, but the intimacy and artisanal refinement are unmatched.
The Mandarin Oriental (#3) impresses with its pool’s surface area, the calming Gilles & Boissier design and a structured offer that suits couples and families alike, notably thanks to the children’s club and the separate pool. Amanjena (#4) is a destination for aesthetes: its mirror pool and minimalist architecture create an atmosphere of retreat. Finally, the Four Seasons (#5) is the best compromise for families with young children, with a strong service ethos and a more accessible entry price.
The Marrakech climate makes heated pools enjoyable from October to May; summer months (July-August) see temperatures exceeding 40 °C, which can limit swimming in the early afternoon. The Christmas and Easter periods carry the highest rates, while the first quarter and November offer mild weather at more moderate prices, except during the Formula 1 Grand Prix or events such as the Marrakech du Rire festival, where demand can drive prices up.
For a short stay centred on the spa and pool, La Mamounia or Amanjena allow you to immerse yourself in the experience quickly. A longer family stay benefits more from the spaces at the Mandarin Oriental or Four Seasons. An exclusive celebration trip will find an unparalleled setting at the Royal Mansour. In all cases, booking two to three months in advance is wise for high season, especially if you are targeting a suite with direct pool access.
