MGallery Unveils Exclusive All-Villa Resort in the Maldives, “V Villas”

By Raphael Simon | Friday 05 December 2025

Some announcements resonate like promises of clear skies, endless horizons, and whispered luxury. With the signing of V Villas Maldives at Mirihi · MGallery Collection, scheduled for an early 2026 opening, MGallery introduces a new definition of elegance to the Maldives: intimate, inspired, and closer to nature.

On the South Ari Atoll, Mirihi, a small island carved by waves and named after a delicate flower, is preparing for a renewal. Formerly Mirihi Island Resort, it is now being reimagined under the impetus of the Thai group VIE Maldives Pvt Ltd and the award-winning architectural studio Studio Gronda, who are orchestrating a profound transformation. The result? A confidential address composed exclusively of 42 villas, set on immaculate sands or suspended above a translucent lagoon.

A Sanctuary of Refinement, Designed for Reconnection

On Mirihi, everything seems to breathe calm: vibrant coral reefs, peaceful waters surrounding the island, the discreet rustle of wind through the palm trees. It is this natural poetry that V Villas Maldives at Mirihi intends to enhance.

The materials draw from the soul of the Maldives: coral stones, organic textures, architectural lines that invite light and the ocean into every space. As for the multi-bedroom suites with private pools, they embrace the horizon as if they were part of it.

MGallery brings its signature touch here: a narrative atmosphere, charged with emotion, where experience takes precedence over ostentation. Intimacy, personality, sensoriality: three key words found in every corner, from the yoga pavilion open to the sea to the new overwater dining venue, where flavours seem to float between sky and water.

Luxury, the Slow Version

Arrival at V Villas Maldives at Mirihi is experienced as a prelude: a 25-minute seaplane flight from Malé, followed by a gentle glide into a world crafted for slowing down. Here, the focus is on total well-being, encompassing a sanctified spa, mindfulness programmes, and immersion in marine biodiversity.

Here, sustainability is not just talk, it is integrated. The resort participates in Accor’s ESG pilot programme, aligns with Mirihi’s fragile ecology, and celebrates local heritage. Diving with manta rays, snorkelling among the peaceful giants that are whale sharks, exploring the reefs: everything invites wonder, but a conscious wonder.

A Vision Driven by Asian Luxury Hospitality Experts

The project follows on from the success of V Villas in Thailand · Bangkok, Hua Hin, Phuket · all already members of the MGallery Collection. Under the impetus of Vicha Poolvaraluk, a key figure in the Major Cineplex group and a connoisseur of the Maldives, this new address aims to elevate island refinement to an unprecedented level.

For Maud Bailly, CEO Sofitel Legend, Sofitel, MGallery & Emblems, Mirihi represents a turning point:

A refined sanctuary, an authentic haven where every stay is lived in profound harmony with nature.”

MGallery, the Collection that Tells Stories

With over 120 boutique hotels worldwide, from the Parisian Molitor to Hotel Santa Teresa in Rio or the Manly Pacific in Sydney, MGallery cultivates the art of creating memorable places. Each address is a destination in itself, a travel story that remains etched in memory.

The upcoming opening of V Villas Maldives at Mirihi will be no exception: it promises not just a stay, but a life interlude, driven by balance, contemplation, and discreet luxury.
